31 Jul One of “Today’s Africa” Business Leaders.
When I managed Continental General Tire’s manufacturing company in Tanzania in the 1990’s one of our customers was a local trucking (goods transportation company) called Mohammed Enterprises Tanzania Limited. Mohammed Enterprises also worked for us delivering tires to our depots and dealer network and they hauled raw materials from the Dar es Salaam port to our factory. The company also had some business in a small textile firm and some retail shops.
Please watch the below video as it explains where Mohammed Enterprises Tanzania Limited is today. In 12 years their turnover has gone from $30 Million to $1.2 Billion. Listen to the comments from the company’s Chief Executive who was on the Cover of Forbes magazine this month. He says the best years are yet to come! Oh, and he is only 38 years old. I met him over ten years ago and could clearly see he had big plans for his family business. Mr. Dewji went to high school in the USA and is a graduate of Georgetown University.
There are many more young, well educated entrepreneurs just like Mo Dewji throughout Africa and that is why Africa is the place to be right now when it comes to cultivating new business. Yes, business in Africa is booming and you owe it to your yourself, your company and shareholders to check it out.
